Medical Statistics, September 2007
Welcome to the upcoming T7 Medical Statistics course, which will begin on Wednesday, September 19, 2007. The objective of this course is to introduce you to the importance of statistical thinking and evidence-based medicine, and enable you to appreciate the role of statistical methods in published medical research.
Time and Place
The course will run for 5 days (full-time) from September 19-25, 2007, starting at 9:00 on September 19.
Location: Lecture hall Jacob Berzelius, (Adam).
The course registering will start from 08:40.

Lectures and Exam
- Roll call and the course exam are obligatory! Most lectures, and the exam, will be in English. A written exam will be given on the last day, September 25 between 13:00 and 15:00 in Skrivsal. Exam results will be published on the web. No results will be given over the phone. Students are requested to bring a calculator to class, preferably a simple "scientific" calculator which computes mean and standard deviation. Students will receive a packet of course materials day 1 of the course. Students will not be provided with lecture notes. Those who want paper copies must download and print them from this site. Applications for exemption will only be accepted if complete documentation (cover letter and copies of official academic records) is received in hard copy on or before August 17, 2007. A decision will be made by early September.
Exemption applications will be accepted for courses taken during the past 5 years. Please note that mathematics/statistics courses with little medical content may not entitle you to an exemption (see objective above). For exemptions please apply to:
