Neuroscience, part 1 - From Ion Channel to Behaviour
Welcome to the Department of Neuroscience and the course "Neuroscience, part 1 - From Ion Channel to Behaviour"!
This course is a basic, integrated course in Neuroscience, aiming to bridge the gap between the function of the individual nerve cell to the operational principles of different higher functions of the central nervous system, which control our behavioral repertoire.
Contents: The functioning of the single neuron on the molecular, ion channel, cellular and synaptic level, the operation of neuronal networks, the development and structural design of the nervous system, the control of simpler and more complex functions of the central nervous system.
The course schedule includes lectures, demonstrations, seminars, group work, and laboratory exercises.

The course will start with a mandatory roll call on Monday, 29 August:
Location: Lecture hall Atrium, Nobels väg 12B, Karolinska Institute, Solna Campus.
