Creating Screencast-o-matic presentations

About Screencast-o-Matic

Using Screencast-o-matic you can create screen recordings with voice-overs. You can choose between publishing these directly into Ping Pong as video files but you can also publish them to external video services such as YouTube. If you log in using the account provided by Karolinska Institutet, you have the added benefit of accessing the extended pro-version of Screencast-o-matic giving you enhanced recording and editing functionality.

You can choose to download and install the program or run it directly in a browser, such as Chrome or Firefox. It may be necessary to install a script (Java), but you will not need administrative rights to the computer to do this. To aviod using Java you should use the Download Install version of Screencast-o-matic.

Start by clicking Download Install on the webpage:

If you do so then you will see this information when you click Download Install:

Follow these steps to enable Pro Recorder features:

  1. Run the installer
  2. Click the Site License button and this opens a new window where you enter the access URL
  3. Enter this Access Url: karolinska_institutet
  4. A new window opens and you can enter Password you've been given
